White On UFC Belgrade Flares: 'Never See That Again'

Dana White wants no repeat of the flare displays that lit up UFC Belgrade over the weekend.

Serbian fans sparked multiple flares in the arena during Saturday's event, turning sections of the venue red after hometown fighter Uros Medic knocked out Daniel Rodriguez in 30 seconds. When asked if he had ever seen flares at a UFC event before, White told TheMacLife's Oscar Willis: "Yes, Thank God. I hope I never see that again."

Serbian Tradition Meets UFC Safety Concerns

The flare displays are a staple of Serbian soccer culture, where dozens are often lit simultaneously in large stadiums, creating walls of crimson smoke. At least three separate flares were captured on camera during the broadcast, a relatively modest showing by local standards but enough to concern White about safety in a confined arena setting.

The incident occurred during a card that delivered 12 finishes and 10 first-round stoppages, including eight knockouts. Medic's finish of Rodriguez triggered the initial flare response from the partisan crowd.

UFC Belgrade marked the promotion's first event in Serbia. The next international card has not been announced.
