Former UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski put Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata through a series of combat challenges that saw the 6-foot-8 NFL star question his decision to step into the cage.

Mailata, a Super Bowl winner and fellow Australian, faced off with Volkanovski in multiple segments posted Monday, starting with a punch machine competition before absorbing body shots from the former champion. MMA Fighting reports that Volkanovski managed to take the massive lineman off his feet and eventually secured a submission via choke, even as Mailata lifted him clean into the air.

Volkanovski's Size Disadvantage Proves No Obstacle

The challenges showcased the technical edge of a trained fighter over sheer size, with Volkanovski using leverage and technique throughout. Mailata remained good-humored despite the punishment, though he repeatedly questioned his judgment for agreeing to the tests.

The final segment allowed Mailata to use his football skills, protecting a dummy from Volkanovski's advances. The former featherweight kingpin still found a way to gain the advantage in that scenario as well.
