Nurmagomedov's Title Defense Set At PFL New York

Usman Nurmagomedov's PFL lightweight title defense against Archie Colgan is official after both fighters made championship weight Thursday.

The undefeated champion and his challenger each weighed 154.8 pounds at the PFL New York ceremonial weigh-in, according to Sherdog. The five-round main event airs Friday on ESPN with prelims starting at 4 p.m. ET on the ESPN app before the main card moves to the linear network at 7 p.m. ET.

Nurmagomedov Defends Against Unbeaten Challenger

Nurmagomedov brings a 21-0 record with one no-contest into his second PFL title defense. The 28-year-old American Kickboxing Academy product won the inaugural PFL lightweight championship last year against Paul Hughes and most recently submitted Alfie Davis to keep the belt. He held Bellator's 155-pound title from 2022 until the promotion merged with PFL.

Colgan enters 13-0 and riding a 10-fight winning streak that includes an 8-0 run in Bellator before joining PFL. The 31-year-old Irish fighter has outpointed Mansour Barnaoui and Jay-Jay Wilson since joining the promotion. Per Sherdog's report, all other fighters on the card made weight except Khabib Nabiev and Jamelle Jones, whose results were still pending at publication time.

Also on the card, Dakota Ditcheva weighed 125.8 pounds for her featherweight bout against Denise Kielholtz, who came in at 121.8. Raufeon Stots and Lazaro Dayron both hit 136 pounds for their bantamweight clash.
