Medic Blasts Garry Over Recent Podcast Comments
Uros Medic says he is embarrassed to be in the same room with Ian Garry following the Irishman's recent podcast appearance.
Medic, who headlines UFC Belgrade on Aug. 1 against Daniel Rodriguez, told Full Send MMA that Garry's fighting style relies on evasive movement and split decisions. "Obviously, he is a decision merchant," Medic said, per Sherdog. "He runs around and gets a split decision. I mean, he's done it against Geoff Neal. He's done it against like a lot of guys; he would just run around and try to score some kicks and then get a decision win, you know. And props to him. He gets to win really; you can't say nothing to a winner."
Medic Takes Issue With Garry's Comments On Masculinity
The Serbian's real frustration stems from Garry's recent claims that being in touch with his feminine side makes him more masculine and that the world would be better with women in charge. Medic suggested that Garry's wife, Layla, built her career by marrying an athlete and would have done so with another fighter if not for Garry. The welterweight contender also mocked Garry's relationship dynamic, saying that just because a woman runs Garry's world does not mean everyone should follow that model.
Medic enters his Belgrade headliner on Aug. 1 with a 13-3 record, facing Rodriguez in front of a home crowd at Belgrade Arena. Garry challenges Islam Makhachev for the welterweight title at UFC 330 on Aug. 15 in Philadelphia.
