UFC Signs Roberto Soldic To Welterweight Roster

The UFC has signed former KSW two-division champion Roberto Soldic to its welterweight roster. Soldic, who knocked out current UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in their second meeting at KSW 45, parted ways with ONE Championship last year and now joins the promotion's stacked 170-pound division.

As BJPenn.com reports, the Croatian fighter's signing was spotted by online sleuths after the UFC added his profile to the official website. The profile lists Soldic as a welterweight despite his history competing across multiple weight classes. No debut date has been announced, though he could return to the cage later this year.

Soldic's Path From KSW Dominance To UFC Signing

Soldic last fought at ONE 171 in Qatar, stopping Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev by first-round knockout to snap a two-fight winless streak. His run with ONE Championship produced mixed results after he signed in late 2022. His promotional debut against Murad Ramazanov ended in a no contest following an accidental groin strike, and he dropped a decision to Zebaztian Kadestam five months later before the Arslanaliev finish.

The 29-year-old made his name at KSW, where he held both the welterweight and middleweight titles. After losing the welterweight strap to du Plessis at KSW 43, Soldic reversed the result in their immediate rematch with a knockout. He defended the belt twice more before moving to ONE Championship.

Soldic joins a welterweight division led by champion Belal Muhammad and packed with contenders including Shavkat Rakhmonov, Jack Della Maddalena, and Ian Machado Garry. The UFC has not confirmed when Soldic will make his promotional debut.
