Fury Credits White For Joshua Deal After Hearn Beef
Tyson Fury credited Dana White with breaking the impasse on his long-awaited fight against Anthony Joshua.
Fury told fans on Instagram that the UFC president succeeded where Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn failed, per BJ Penn dot com. The former heavyweight champion singled out White's role in securing a Netflix deal and pushing the bout across the finish line after months of stalled negotiations between the British heavyweights.
What Fury Said About White And Hearn
Fury thanked White directly in the post, calling him "an absolute legend" for closing the deal. He took a shot at Hearn in the same breath, saying the Matchroom boss lacks the courage to admit he played no part in making the fight happen. Fury added that White accomplished something "Eddie and all these men tried to do for years and could never do."
The remarks follow weeks of public tension between Fury and Hearn. White and Hearn have also feuded over Zuffa Boxing's entry into the sport. Joshua, who Hearn promotes, has been in talks with Fury's camp for months with no resolution until White reportedly stepped in.
No date or venue has been announced. Both fighters are expected to confirm details in the coming weeks.
