UFC Flyweight Allan Nascimento Dies

Allan Nascimento has died after suffering a heart attack.

The Brazilian flyweight was found unresponsive on Monday morning and could not be revived. Nascimento was 35 years old and had competed less than two months ago — making the news all the more shocking for those who knew him and followed his career.

Nascimento first came to the UFC's attention through Dana White's Contender Series in 2018, though it took until 2021 for him to earn his place on the roster. Once there, he made it count. In six UFC appearances, Nascimento won four times, building a reputation as a dangerous, creative grappler with a flair for the spectacular.

His finest moment came last November, when he submitted Cody Durden with an anaconda choke — a constricting, technically demanding finish that earned him Performance of the Night and announced him as one of the more watchable fighters in the flyweight division.

Across his professional career, Nascimento competed in 29 MMA bouts and won 22 of them. A record built over years of grinding through one of the sport's most competitive weight classes.

The UFC announced his passing on social media, extending condolences to his family and friends. Further details surrounding his death have not been released.
