Gervonta Davis Reportedly In Talks For Comeback Against George Kambosos Jr.
Gervonta Davis is reportedly in discussions for a comeback fight against former unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr., with the bout targeted for January at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Kambosos confirmed talks are underway but expressed frustration over a proposed rehydration clause. No formal agreement or weight limit has been finalized.
Davis, 31, hasn't fought since a controversial majority draw with Lamont Roach in March 2025. A planned rematch fell through, and a subsequent exhibition against Jake Paul was scrapped amid domestic violence allegations against him. The WBA stripped Davis of his title in January.
Kambosos, 33, last fought in June 2025, suffering an eighth-round stoppage loss to IBF junior welterweight champion Richardson Hitchins. He previously held unified lightweight titles after upsetting Teofimo Lopez in 2021.
