The UFC lightweight contender is scheduled for the UFC 331 co-headliner against Mauricio Ruffy in Los Angeles next month, and now he has a Real American Freestyle title fight booked for October 3 in Las Vegas — against Dillon Danis, the opponent Tsarukyan called out after his grappling match in India last weekend.

RAF confirmed on Monday that Tsarukyan and Danis will compete for the middleweight crossover title at RAF 14, which will be broadcast live on Fox Nation. The full card is still being finalized.

The fight gives Tsarukyan a second shot at an RAF belt after his July loss to Colby Covington at RAF 11, where he dropped a points decision in the cruiserweight crossover title bout. During his extended UFC hiatus — he has not competed in the Octagon since submitting Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last November — Tsarukyan has used the RAF platform aggressively, picking up wins over Urijah Faber and Tony Ferguson before the Covington setback. The win over Danis would be his most prominent RAF result yet, assuming the grappling credentials tell the story they are expected to tell.

Danis is 0-2 on the RAF mats. His promotional debut ended in a technical fall against Covington in March. He then lost to Khamzat Chimaev in June. The title shot despite two losses in the promotion is the kind of booking that works when the name attached to it generates attention, and Danis — through his association with Conor McGregor, his social media presence, and the ongoing Mike Perry subplot — generates attention reliably.

A UFC 331 co-headliner against Ruffy in September, followed by an RAF title fight against Danis in October for Arman is big. Winning the Ruffy fight in September and the Danis RAF match in October would keep him active, add another belt to the collection, and maintain the pressure on the UFC to give him what he has been asking for since his UFC 300 win over Charles Oliveira.
