Brendan Schaub has torched the UFC 332 main event as the worst championship pairing the sport has ever seen.

The Oct. 3 card in Salt Lake City headlines Natalia Silva against Wang Cong for the vacant women's flyweight belt, which Valentina Shevchenko relinquished while recovering from injuries. Silva enters 8-0 in the UFC with 14 consecutive wins overall, but Wang — despite a kickboxing win over Shevchenko in 2015 — owns just one ranked victory in the promotion, a decision over Tracy Cortez on the early prelims of UFC 329 in July. Per MMA Fighting, Schaub unloaded on his YouTube channel, saying the fight is "hands down, no exaggerating, the worst main event in mixed martial arts history."

The former heavyweight argued that Wang, who rebounded from her lone loss to Gabriella Fernandes with four straight wins, has done nothing to warrant a title shot. "There are several other women that are way more well-deserving," he said, according to the report. Schaub went further, claiming UFC CEO Dana White could not name three of Wang's opponents or describe how she won her last three fights even if offered a million dollars to do so.

Because the UFC 332 main card airs on CBS under the promotion's Paramount Skydance broadcast deal, Schaub believes matchmakers grew complacent knowing American fans already pay for Paramount+ subscriptions. He contrasted the strength of the undercard with the main event, saying the UFC "marched the ball all the way down to the 1 and just went, 'We don't want to score.'" He urged Salt Lake City ticket buyers to stay home in protest, hoping poor attendance would force the promotion's hand on future headliners.
