Trump Offers Dana White U.S. Press Secretary Role

President Donald Trump has tapped UFC CEO Dana White for the job of White House press secretary in a weekend post on Truth Social.

The Saturday message named the longtime UFC boss alongside several fighters including Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harrison, according to MMA Mania. Trump pitched the group as potential assistants in the role, framing the move as a way to bring combat sports toughness to the briefing room. The post followed the exit of Katie Zacharia, who lasted five days in the press secretary chair before questions about her legal background pushed her out.

White Responds With Oval Office Photo

Trump called White "a violent Fighter and Warrior" in the announcement and closed the message with a direct appeal for the UFC executive to accept. White posted an Instagram photo of himself in the Oval Office hours later with the caption "onto the next chapter," though whether he plans to leave his UFC post remains unclear.

White has backed Trump publicly since the early UFC era and stumped for him during both presidential campaigns. The two appeared together at UFC Freedom250 on the White House South Lawn in June, an event that cost the promotion over $60 million and required support from seven federal agencies.

No decision date or transition timeline has been announced if White accepts the offer.
