Ortiz Apologises To White After Years Of UFC Feud

Former UFC heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz wants to make amends with Dana White after years of bitter feuding.

Ortiz, whose relationship with White soured during his UFC tenure, told The Ariel Helwani Show that he has tried multiple times to reach the longtime UFC chief executive but has yet to receive a response. "I've tried to reach out a few times. I've tried doing interviews to apologize, just saying that I'm sorry for what I did," Ortiz said, per BJPenn.com.

Ortiz Takes Responsibility For UFC Falling Out

The Hall of Famer acknowledged making mistakes during his time with the promotion, including allowing outside influences to affect his judgment. He said things about White that he now regrets and made decisions he wishes he could take back. "I messed up; it's part of the deal," Ortiz admitted.

Ortiz left the UFC multiple times during his career, with his fractured relationship with White playing a central role in those departures. White has repeatedly made clear his distaste for Ortiz in interviews over the years, and the two nearly fought in a boxing match that was ultimately scrapped.

Despite his willingness to reconcile, Ortiz expressed doubt that White would be receptive. "If that bridge could ever be hashed back together between Dana and me, I'd love it. But I know Dana. He's not that type of guy," he said.

Ortiz also noted his frustration with his current financial situation given his contributions to building the UFC into what it is today. He spent 16 years with the promotion and helped establish its early popularity as heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight champion.

White has not publicly responded to Ortiz's latest comments. The UFC has not indicated whether any reconciliation discussions are underway.
