Szabova Scores Violent Debut TKO At UFC Halloween
Former Oktagon MMA double champion Lucia Szabova demolished Tainara Lisboa in her UFC debut, stopping the Brazilian with violent ground-and-pound in round three at UFC Vegas 123 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Szabova entered as a heavy favorite and delivered. The Slovakian — who held belts at two weights in the European promotion — controlled Lisboa from the opening bell, working takedowns and slicing punches from top position throughout the fight. Lisboa survived into the third round but eventually crumpled under relentless strikes from mount, forcing the referee to wave it off.
Szabova Passes UFC Debut Test With Dominant Performance
The finish came late in round three after Szabova had dominated every exchange. MMA Mania noted that Lisboa lasted longer than expected given the one-sided nature of the fight, but Szabova's top pressure and finishing instinct eventually broke through. The stoppage marked a successful Octagon arrival for a fighter who carried significant hype into her UFC debut.
Szabova joins a crowded women's flyweight division after her statement win. Her next opponent and fight date have not been announced.
