Stevenson Ready To Fight Foster After Ringside Confrontation

Shakur Stevenson has gone from ignoring O'Shaquie Foster's callouts to actively pushing for the fight.

Foster successfully defended his WBC featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight title with a 12-round majority decision over Raymond Ford, a fight Stevenson watched from ringside with visible displeasure as the rounds wore on. Ford had success early, but Foster's pressure and activity allowed him to pull away in the second half of the contest. As the momentum shifted, Stevenson's ringside reactions became part of the story. After the final bell, Foster made his way toward Stevenson and the two exchanged words in front of cameras and fans — footage that spread quickly across social media and became one of the night's most discussed moments.

"Boy gone wanna shake my hand after saying he ain't shaking hands. Foh let's fight." Shakur followed up with a pointed clarification about the weight question that had previously complicated any conversation about the matchup. "Don't say he's a 30-pounder either; he talked his way here, now let's go."

The weight dimension matters. Stevenson is the WBO lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight champion at 140 pounds, while Foster holds the WBC super featherweight title at 130. A fight between them would require one or both to move, and Stevenson's comment about not calling Foster a "30-pounder" suggests he is prepared to come down or meet at a catchweight rather than let the weight class gap remain an obstacle.
