Nicholson's Statement On Training Injury
"I'm devastated to announce that, due to sustaining an injury in training last week, I have had to withdraw from my scheduled fight in Birmingham on Saturday, August 29," Nicholson said in a statement. "I'd like to sincerely apologize to Miyo Yoshida and her team for this delay."
The nature of the injury was not disclosed. Nicholson added that she will attend this weekend's MVPW-05 event in Orlando to support other Australian world champions on the card while she recovers.
Nicholson won a wide 10-round decision over Mariah Turner in April and carries a 16-1 record with three knockouts. She signed with MVP earlier this year as one of the promotion's marquee pickups in the women's ranks.
