Sean Strickland removed by security at UFC Fan Fest in D.C.
Sean Strickland got himself kicked out of UFC Fan Fest in Washington D.C. after trying to slip into the event without authorization, according to social media posts documented by Sherdog.
The former UFC middleweight champion shared footage of the incident on his Instagram account, showing security personnel escorting him away from the venue. Strickland, who has never been one to follow protocol, apparently showed up uninvited to the fan event held in the nation's capital.
Strickland's latest stunt continues pattern of controversy
The ejection marks another chapter in the outspoken fighter's history of unpredictable behavior outside the cage. Strickland lost the middleweight title to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297 last year and has been angling for a rematch ever since.
No word yet on whether Strickland was attempting to interact with fans or simply making a statement by crashing the official UFC event. The promotion has not commented on the incident or issued any disciplinary action against the California native.
Strickland remains a top contender in the 185-pound division despite the security mishap. His next fight has not been announced.
