Cormier blames hack for Eric Trump gambling screenshots
Daniel Cormier claimed his social media account was hacked after screenshots surfaced showing messages from Eric Trump requesting inside information on UFC Freedom 250 fights at the White House.
The UFC commentator denied the exchange in a video captured by political correspondent Nicholas Ballasy. "They're not real, I can't believe you guys believed that," Cormier said, per ESPN. "I got hacked or something, who believes stuff like this?"
What the screenshots showed before deletion
The images appeared on Cormier's verified X account an hour before UFC Freedom 250 began on Paramount+, showing an Instagram conversation where an account under Eric Trump's name asked whether any fights were fixed. One message read, "I'll just cut to the chase. Are any of the fights tomorrow rigged?" according to the screenshots. The post included a caption stating Cormier would not "stay silent" on the alleged "insider behavior" before being scrubbed from the platform.
Eric Trump addressed the matter shortly after the deletion, posting on X that the screenshots were fabricated using artificial intelligence. "I have never spoken to Daniel," he wrote, adding that Cormier's decision to remove the post confirmed the images were fake.
The screenshots referenced the opening bout between Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia, with the account appearing to ask about a potential upset. Lopes, who closed as betting favourite, stopped Garcia via second-round TKO at the White House event.
