"I want that, I want to clean that up. He don't want it though. He knows it. He knows I'm a bad man. He don't want me at 147. So there's really nothing to be said.

"I mean, cool you got me at 136, get me at 147, prove to me you really like that. He doesn't. He doesn't want to prove it to himself, he doesn't want to prove it to me, he doesn't — he's a little bit kind of scared, I ain't going to lie," Garcia

Davis has floated a possible compromise at 140 or even 144 pounds, posting on social media that he'd accept 144 to make the fight happen, but Garcia has shown no interest in moving off 147 given his current standing.

Davis beat Garcia by seventh-round body shot stoppage in their 2023 meeting, a fight Garcia entered as the less established name. Since then, Garcia has won the WBC welterweight title and delivered a dominant stoppage of Conor Benn, giving him leverage to hold firm on the rematch terms — or pursue other options like Teofimo Lopez or Devin Haney if the Davis fight doesn't come together.
