Rousey On Possible Return For MVP MMA 2

Ronda Rousey has left the door open for a second Most Valuable Promotions appearance despite announcing her retirement after defeating Gina Carano.

The former UFC bantamweight champion returned to MMA in May following a decade away from the sport, submitting Carano in the opening round of the Netflix-streamed MVP event. Rousey walked away immediately after the win but now signals a possible change of heart.

Rousey Reconsidering Retirement After MVP Debut

When asked by Fight Culture whether she would compete at a potential MVP MMA 2 card, the 39-year-old offered a measured response. "We'll see," Rousey said, per Sherdog. "We need to kind of reconvene and see what the future looks like. I think everyone is just kind of decompressing and getting back to post-that huge of an event fight life."

Rousey compiled a 13-2 record across her UFC and MVP runs. She defended the UFC title five consecutive times before dropping back-to-back fights to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, then spent several years in WWE before the Carano comeback.

MVP has not announced plans for a second MMA event or potential opponents should Rousey return to the cage.
