Ronda Rousey reveals rift with UFC exec Hunter Campbell

Ronda Rousey has opened up about her strained relationship with UFC executive Hunter Campbell, accusing him of undercutting her worth during early negotiations.

Speaking on her podcast, Rousey said Campbell tried to devalue both her and Gina Carano from the start of discussions. "He was being so dismissive and just trying to get me and Gina to value ourselves less from the get-go," she said, per Sherdog. "He was like, 'Oh, I know, you guys are just so much older and I just don't know how it's gonna do.'"

Rousey's history with Campbell and the UFC

The former UFC bantamweight champion retired from MMA in 2016 after back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. She moved to WWE and left combat sports entirely in 2023. Rousey has been critical of UFC brass in her autobiography, detailing various grievances from her fighting years.

Campbell, who serves as UFC chief business officer and general counsel, handles many fighter negotiations alongside Dana White. He joined the promotion in 2012 and has been a key figure in contract talks with top stars.

Rousey did not specify when these conversations took place or whether a potential return was ever seriously discussed. No UFC spokesperson has commented on her remarks.
