Raja Jackson, the 26-year-old son of former UFC heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, has accepted a plea deal in connection with an assault on professional wrestler Stuart Smith last August, ESPN reports.
Jackson pleaded no contest to felony battery following an incident at a KnokX pro wrestling event in Los Angeles. According to the District Attorney's Office, he will serve 90 days in county jail, pay $81,703.38 in restitution to the victim, and complete two years of formal probation. Sentencing is scheduled for June 22.
Details of the KnokX assault incident
The attack occurred during a scheduled appearance in which Jackson was set to participate in a staged match. Instead, he reportedly slammed Smith, who wrestles under the name Syko Stu, to the ground and continued striking him after he appeared to lose consciousness. Smith sustained multiple head and jaw injuries, lost several teeth, and suffered a deep laceration to his lip.
Jackson was arrested in September and initially faced one count of felony battery causing serious bodily injury and one count of misdemeanor battery. The felony charge carried a potential four-year prison sentence. Wednesday's plea agreement allowed him to avoid a preliminary hearing and significantly reduced his exposure to jail time.
