Justin Gaethje getting new Ram truck after Arman Tsarukyan bet
Justin Gaethje is getting a new truck courtesy of Arman Tsarukyan, who cashed a massive $5.7 million wager on the lightweight's upset win over Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250 earlier this month.
Gaethje forced a corner stoppage between the fourth and fifth rounds against Topuria on the South Lawn of the White House, scoring the undisputed 155-pound title and $825,000 in post-fight bonuses. Tsarukyan, ranked second at lightweight, placed the seven-figure bet on Gaethje as a heavy underdog and told Ariel Helwani he plans to deliver on his promise of a gift. "Of course [I'm getting him a truck]. I just checked what color he wants," Tsarukyan said, per MMA Mania.
Gaethje requests Ram, already has truck picked out
At the UFC Freedom 250 post-fight press conference, Gaethje made his preference clear. "I need a new truck," he said. "I'll take a Ram. I'm due for a new truck. My truck is a 2020. I bought it when I beat Tony Ferguson, and it's got about 65,000 miles on it, so send it."
Tsarukyan said he will make good on the offer after completing two Real American Freestyle matches in July, including a bout with Colby Covington. "Dana White said Ram, so I'm going to get him a Ram," Tsarukyan added. "Ram is a UFC official sponsor, so maybe they will give me a discount, 15 or 10 percent. But if they don't, it's okay, it's not that expensive."
Tsarukyan could be next in line for a title shot if Gaethje decides to defend the belt, though the new champion has not committed to a timeline for his return.
