Prograis Slams Haney For Not Signing The Contract

Regis Prograis has once again hit out at Devin Haney, as the duo fail to get their fight over the line.

The ‘Dream’ had informed the WBC that he was moving up to 140, as the talk turned towards a title fight with Prograis for his WBC belt at junior welterweight.

After all, Haney was made a ‘champion in recess’ at 135 by the WBC. And yet, the fight did not get signed by both sides. Although that may have been the case, there has been somewhat of a controversy.

Prograis has confirmed that he has signed his side of the agreement. Therefore, the ball is firmly in Haney’s court.

Prograis expanded on how the delay may have been an attempt by Haney to move the date or get out of the fight. In response, Haney admitted that there was a hold up with the venue.

And this back-and-forth has left Regis none the wiser.

Prograis’ Comments

"I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know who on the same page. That’s not the date I signed for (October 28)…I’m gonna tell you for sure, that’s not the date I signed for. I signed a contract, and that’s not the date. So now I don’t know what’s going on, bro.

"(They’re trying to push it back), I think it’ll be a November date…I literally already signed for the (original) date. I don’t know what’s going on on Devin’s side. I don’t know if they’re trying to get an earlier date than that or a later date, but I didn’t sign for October 28.It’s a November date (that I signed for)," Prograis

This naturally begs the question: where does Prograis go from here? The fighter expanded on how he could not rule out moving on if the terms were not finalized soon.

And if that were to happen, Prograis would be open to facing Adrian Broner. Although the fight may not offer Haney that big name, Broner is still a popular fighter nonetheless.

"The was talking about me and Devin fighting and nothing is still materializing yet, nothing happened yet. So if nothing don’t come, I do want to fight, so if nothing don’t come I might be good, depends on how I feel…’cause now, you know, AB out there. And to be honest, me and AB might be a bigger fight," Prograis
