BBC Sport's Born to Brawl series features Pimblett, Shields and Eubank Jr
BBC Sport has rolled out a documentary series profiling fighters from boxing and MMA at defining moments in their careers. Born to Brawl features episodes on Paddy Pimblett, Claressa Shields, Chris Eubank Jr and a dozen other athletes, offering what the BBC describes as a rare look at what it takes to compete at the highest level.
The series lets each subject tell their story in their own voice. Shields discusses her path to becoming undisputed middleweight champion. Eubank Jr addresses the weight of boxing lineage and stepping into the shadow of his father. Pimblett's episode revisits his UFC debut in Las Vegas after he turned down earlier offers from the promotion.
From Olympic refugee to bareknuckle royalty
Other episodes track Natasha Jonas winning three world titles at 37, UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall going from twenty quid in the bank to headlining cards, and Cindy Ngamba's journey from refugee status to Olympic bronze. Savannah Marshall opens up about social anxiety and what she calls Floyd Mayweather's broken promises before her historic showdown with Shields.
The series also spotlights lesser-known names chasing breakthroughs. Dennis McCann, tagged by Tyson Fury as the next traveller boxing star, gets an episode. So do Aadam and Sami Hamed, who are turning pro with no amateur record and carrying the weight of their father Naseem's legacy. Muhammad Mokaev recounts fleeing Dagestan as a child and finding mixed martial arts in the UK.
All episodes are available to stream now on BBC Sport's platform.
