Stevenson vows to rule pound-for-pound after Zuffa Boxing move
Shakur Stevenson says he will become the world's best fighter pound-for-pound after signing with Zuffa Boxing. The featherweight says the promotional switch gives him access to the sport's biggest names.
“Line them up, one by one, and I'll beat all the top guys once I get them in front of me. With Zuffa Boxing, I'm going to go after the biggest fights in the sport and I will become the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

What Shakur Stevenson said
Stevenson has joined Zuffa Boxing, the UFC parent company's new venture in professional boxing. The American competes at featherweight and has long complained about the quality of opposition available under his previous promotional agreements. The Zuffa platform promises cross-promotional matchmaking that could unlock fights with rival stable stars.
What it moves
Stevenson's claim sets up potential clashes with the division's elite and champions from neighbouring weight classes. His new backers will need to deliver on the matchmaking promise if he is to fulfil the ambition. Rival promoters have yet to comment on whether they will negotiate with Zuffa Boxing.
