Shakur Stevenson says he will defeat every top opponent available to him now that he has signed with Zuffa Boxing. The featherweight told Sky Sports he plans to chase the sport's biggest fights under the new banner.

“Line them up, one by one, and I'll beat all the top guys once I get them in front of me. With Zuffa Boxing, I'm going to go after the biggest fights in the sport and I will become the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

What Shakur Stevenson said

Stevenson joins Zuffa Boxing after years boxing under a traditional promoter model. The former unified champion at featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight has moved up in weight and is chasing the biggest names in the featherweight division. His signing gives the new promotional outfit one of boxing's most technically skilled fighters.

What it moves

Stevenson's claim sets up potential showdowns with the division's elite if Zuffa can deliver on matchmaking. The featherweight landscape remains crowded with belt-holders and contenders. Whether Zuffa can secure those fights will determine if Stevenson's pound-for-pound goal is realistic in the near term.
