Caoimhin Agyarko has opened up about the uncertainty that followed the collapse of his scheduled world title eliminator with Nathan Heaney Adams, saying he feared being left on the sidelines.

“I was heartbroken at the time [when the Adams fight was cancelled] and didn't know what was going to happen after, whether I was going to have to fight in another eliminator or get the title fight, or even be left on the sidelines again”

What Caoimhin Agyarko said

Agyarko now has a world title fight against Josh Kelly on the horizon. The middleweight contender saw a previous eliminator fall through, leaving his pathway to a championship bout in doubt until the Kelly opportunity emerged.

What it moves

The Agyarko-Kelly clash will settle who fights for world honours next. Agyarko's relief at getting back into title contention suggests he will push for an early statement win to make up for lost time.
