Isaac Cruz returns Saturday night looking to rebuild momentum at 140 pounds when he faces Nestor Bravo in a PBC main event on DAZN.
Cruz, who holds the WBC's interim title at lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight, has gone 2-0-1 since losing to Jose Valenzuela in late 2024, according to Bad Left Hook. He picked up decision wins over Angel Fierro and Omar Salcido before drawing with Lamont Roach in a bout many observers felt Roach deserved to win. The former lightweight contender has struggled to carry his power up to 140, where he stopped Rolly Romero two years ago but has since failed to finish anyone else at the weight.

Can Bravo's Size Neutralize Cruz's Pressure?
Bravo brings a half-foot reach advantage and reportedly owns a strong jab when he deploys it. The 32-year-old Puerto Rican is 24-1 with 17 knockouts but suffered a split decision loss to Xolisani Ndongeni in March 2025. Bad Left Hook described him as a counter-puncher who sometimes abandons that approach to slug wildly, a tendency that leaves him vulnerable to faster, more disciplined opponents. Bravo stopped Pedro Campa in two rounds back in January.
Cruz has become known simply as Pitbull Cruz in the manner of Canelo Alvarez before him. The Mexican fighter is famously durable and relentless in close quarters despite standing shorter than most at 140. Bad Left Hook noted that he appears to bank early rounds before his conditioning fades late, a pattern that has worked against limited opposition but may not hold against elite super lightweights.

Bad Left Hook expects Cruz to secure a stoppage victory and earn another crack at a world title, either against the winner of the upcoming Smith-Puello bout or Gary Antuanne Russell in 2027. Coverage begins Saturday at 8 pm ET on DAZN.
