Paddy Pimblett does not have a fight booked yet and has not heard from the UFC about who his next opponent will be.

The Liverpool lightweight told Eze Obas in a recent interview that he expects to return in December if all goes to plan, per MMA Junkie. When asked about a potential matchup with featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, Pimblett said he would love to fight him but added that no conversations have taken place. "Nothing yet. No one's spoke to me about it, so we'll see what happens," he said.

Options At Lightweight For Pimblett's Return

Pimblett rattled off several names when pressed on realistic next opponents at 155 pounds. "Arman, Gaethje, Ruffy, Charles (Oliveira), there's loads of names," he said. "When I get told who I'm fighting, I'm sure everyone else will know."

The 30-year-old is coming off a statement win over Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 327 in January, a result that put him firmly in the title picture. He has made no secret of his ambition to hold gold before his career is over.

Pimblett was fined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission following UFC 329 for a post-fight incident, but the setback has not derailed his momentum. If he fights again this year it will be in December, he said, though he stopped short of committing to a date.
