PFL Africa Sets Casablanca Debut With Six Semifinal Fights

PFL Africa will stage its first North African event Oct. 10 at Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, the promotion announced Wednesday.

The card features six tournament semifinals spanning bantamweight, welterweight and lightweight divisions, with winners advancing to the PFL Africa Finals later this year. Senegal's Abdoulaye Kane takes on Morocco's Badr Medkouri in a heavyweight main event outside the bracket.

Kane, Medkouri Headline Morocco Card

Kane enters with five wins, all by stoppage — four knockouts and one submission. Medkouri has knocked out eight of nine opponents he's beaten. The co-main sees unbeaten Algerian-Canadian Karim Henniene square off against Nigeria's Raphael Uchegbu in the bantamweight semifinal. Henniene submitted his opponent in the first round at PFL Africa: Nigeria in June; Uchegbu won a decision on the same card.

Liberia's Dwight Joseph meets Angola's Boule Godogo in the second bantamweight semifinal. The welterweight bracket pits Angola's Shido Boris Esperanca against South Africa's Peace Nguphane, with Guinea-Bissau's Rivaldo Pereira facing unbeaten Nigerian David Samuel on the other side. Two Nigerians, Patrick Ocheme and Cornel Thompson, collide in one lightweight semifinal, while Senegal's Demba Seck faces Chad's Hussain Al Kurdi in the other.

Fighters from nine African nations appear on the card. "We're looking to go to all four corners of the continent," PFL Africa general manager Elias Schulze said, per Sherdog. The finals are scheduled for later in 2026.
