Dmitri Ramos On Boxing Edge Against Gingsanglek

Dmitri Ramos steps into ONE Championship for the first time Friday banking on the one weapon he thinks no Thai kicker can match.

The 26-year-old American faces Gingsanglek Wor Kumchamnarn in a bantamweight Muay Thai co-main event at The Inner Circle 26, streaming from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. Ramos comes off a spinning elbow finish of Phet Uthong Or Kwanmuang in a rematch after an earlier loss, built over years on the Thai regional circuit with Sor Dechapan. His foundation is boxing, the first striking art he learned, and he views it as the technical separator against a fighter whose kicks he openly respects.

Ramos Plans To Drown Gingsanglek In Deep Water

"I do think Gingsanglek's kick is more dangerous than Phet Uthong's. Gingsanglek is a cannon. So I have to treat his weapon for what it is," Ramos told BJPenn.com. He added that he knows where his advantage lies in the later rounds. "I know my gas tank is better. I've seen him fight. My boxing, I know I have the technical advantage with my boxing. I'm gonna make him drown. Take him to the deep waters in the third round."

Ramos predicts two scenarios: an early finish from either man given their shared power, or a grinding pace where his forward pressure becomes the deciding factor if Gingsanglek survives the opening exchanges. The American has turned patience and work rate into his calling card on the rise from regional prospect to ONE debutant with legitimate expectations attached.

The Inner Circle 26 streams live in Asia primetime this Friday, August 14.
