Nolan Cracks Lightweight Top 10 After Moicano Finish
Tom Nolan cracked the lightweight top 10 after his stoppage of Renato Moicano at UFC Fight Night last weekend in Las Vegas.
The Australian jumped five spots from No. 12 to No. 7 in the official rankings update, per MMA Mania, while Moicano slid six places from No. 8 to No. 14 following the loss. The finish at UFC APEX marked Nolan's biggest career win and positioned him within range of a title eliminator at 155 pounds.
Smith Debuts In Welterweight Top 15
In the welterweight division, undefeated Contender Series graduate Jacobe Smith entered the rankings at No. 14 after stopping veteran Randy Brown. Kevin Holland dropped one slot to No. 15, while Daniel Rodriguez fell off the chart entirely.
Nolan now sits ahead of Benoit Saint Denis and Mateusz Gamrot in the lightweight pecking order. Moicano's slide puts him behind both Rafael Fiziev and Tofiq Musayev in the updated rankings.
The next lightweight title fight has not been announced, though champion Justin Gaethje is expected to defend before the end of the year.
