Lobov Accuses McGregor Of Targeting His Mother
Artem Lobov went public Monday with allegations that Conor McGregor hired people to destroy his vehicle and intimidate his elderly mother.
The former teammates and training partners settled a whiskey profits lawsuit this past April, but Lobov now claims McGregor responded by targeting his family rather than facing him. MMA Fighting reports Lobov posted that McGregor arranged for someone to torch his car and menace his 60-year-old mother with a hammer. Lobov says McGregor avoided him at their old Dublin gym despite years of overlapping schedules there.
Former Teammate Details Financial Disputes With McGregor
In a series of social media posts, Lobov listed several SBG Ireland members he says McGregor shortchanged after major paydays. He claims coach John Kavanagh got roughly 100,000 following the Floyd Mayweather bout instead of the agreed five percent. Lobov wrote that teammate Derek lost his job weeks before Christmas over a personal disagreement, and that Lee Hammond earned just 500 euros weekly before tax despite founding The Mac Life. He pins the behavior on substance issues, saying McGregor's drinking and drug use changed him.
Lobov says McGregor called him out at four in the morning instead of meeting in person. "That Conor is no longer here unfortunately," Lobov wrote of his former friend, per MMA Fighting. The post reflected on how their bond once drove McGregor to fly to Brooklyn in 2018 after Lobov clashed with Khabib Nurmagomedov's camp.
McGregor has one fight remaining on his current UFC contract. Lobov suggested Monday that McGregor's motivation for returning is financial necessity tied to substance use rather than competitive drive.
