Page Reacts To UFC Release With Mocking Post

Michael Page has responded to his UFC release with characteristic defiance.

The British striker, who compiled a 6-1 record across seven fights with the promotion, posted a photo of himself mimicking holding up a boulder on Instagram hours after Dana White confirmed he would not be re-signed. "Me trying to handle the internet's opinions," Page wrote, per MMA Mania, adding a laughing emoji.

White Confirms Page Departure After Paris Win

White addressed Page's status on Tuesday after the welterweight-turned-middleweight disappeared from the rankings. "What's the confusion? I think it's been pretty clear that he wasn't being re-signed," the UFC president said, according to the report.

Page entered UFC Paris without a contract offer and understood the promotion wanted an explosive performance against Nursulton Ruziboev. Instead, the two combined for fewer than 20 significant strikes in another low-action affair that sealed Page's fate. The counter-striker had repeatedly promised to increase his output over recent fights but reverted to his defensive style each time.

Page signed with the UFC in 2024 and rose to eighth in the middleweight rankings after leaving welterweight, where top-five opponents reportedly declined to face him. He is expected to field offers from rival promotions.
