Mica Galvao Returns At 2026 IBJJF Crown
Pound-for-pound star Mica Galvao will compete at the 2026 IBJJF Crown on Sunday, his first major tournament since his father and coach was arrested on multiple sexual assault charges, MMA Mania reports.
The event takes place at the Pyramid in Long Beach, California, with eight-person brackets across four men's divisions and two women's divisions. Each tournament winner will reportedly collect $20,000, with smaller purses going to other medalists.
Galvao Faces Defending Champion Murasaki
Galvao will compete in the middleweight bracket, where defending two-time Crown champion Andy Murasaki is also entered. Five of last year's six champions are back, including three-time winners Erich Munis and Gabi Pessanha, along with Murasaki, Sarah Galvao, and Nolan Stuart.
The gi jiu-jitsu competition streams live on FloGrappling starting at 1 p.m. ET, with early matches expected on a free YouTube stream. Full brackets and matchups are available on the IBJJF website.
