McMillen Calls Out Evloev For UFC 333 Backup Role

Tommy McMillen wants the UFC to call his number as backup for Alexander Volkanovski's featherweight title defense against Movsar Evloev at UFC 333.

The undefeated featherweight, who faces Marwan Rahiki at Noche UFC 4 this weekend, told MMA Fighting's Mike Heck that he would jump at the chance to step in for the championship bout. McMillen dismissed Evloev's credentials and predicted a boring performance from the wrestling-heavy challenger.

McMillen Targets Title Shot Despite Limited UFC Experience

McMillen earned his UFC contract via Dana White's Contender Series in September 2025 and has since gone 2-0 in the octagon, finishing Alberto Montes at UFC Oklahoma City in July and Manolo Zecchini at the APEX in April. Both victories earned him Performance of the Night bonuses.

The 28-year-old Arizona native secured his spot on the Noche UFC 4 card after publicly demanding a Mexican opponent for the Mexico-themed event. The UFC matched him instead with Rahiki, a Moroccan fighter based in Australia.

McMillen's call for the backup role comes despite having just two official UFC appearances and facing an opponent in Rahiki who could present serious challenges. His 10-0 professional record includes a come-from-behind majority decision over David Mgoyan on Contender Series.

Volkanovski defends his featherweight strap against the unbeaten Evloev at UFC 333 in a bout that will test the champion against one of the division's top contenders.
