McGregor Posts Footage Of Kick That Ended UFC 329
Conor McGregor has posted behind-the-scenes footage of himself throwing kicks just before his disastrous UFC 329 main event return, addressing speculation that he entered the bout with a pre-existing injury.
The former two-division champion shared an Instagram reel showing him warming up moments before his walkout against Max Holloway, per Sherdog. McGregor's comeback from a five-year layoff ended on the first kick he threw when his knee gave out, forcing an anticlimactic stoppage in what was the penultimate fight on his current UFC contract.
McGregor Targets IFW 2027 For Final UFC Fight
In the caption of his post, McGregor revealed his comeback timeline while lamenting the missed opportunity. "What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset," he wrote. "IFW 2027 The Last Dance."
UFC CEO Dana White confirmed the same return window at a recent Zuffa Boxing press conference, telling reporters that the Irishman suffered an ACL tear and faces a year-long recovery. White said simply that McGregor will be out for a year.
Holloway called for a trilogy bout in his post-fight interview at UFC 329, and McGregor has since indicated the Hawaiian will likely be his opponent for the final fight of his UFC deal. The Irish star has been documenting his rehabilitation on social media, recently posting video of himself doing leg work in the gym.
