McGregor arrives in platform shoes for UFC 329 weigh-ins
Conor McGregor turned heads at the UFC 329 ceremonial weigh-ins in Las Vegas on Thursday, appearing to wear platform shoes and sporting what looked like hickies on his neck before Saturday's rematch with Max Holloway.
MMA Mania reported that McGregor, returning to the scale for the first time in five years, drew a loud reaction from the T-Mobile Arena crowd as he stripped down to his underwear and stepped onto the platform. The ceremonial staredown showed visible marks on McGregor's neck during the final face-off with Holloway.
First ceremonial weigh-in since 2021 for McGregor
The spectacle comes 13 years after McGregor beat Holloway at featherweight in a one-sided decision. Holloway went on to claim the 145-pound title and later won the BMF belt, spending the past five years fighting top contenders across two divisions. McGregor has fought just twice in that span, with cage rust a major question heading into Saturday night.
The Irish star has long treated ceremonial weigh-ins as performance art, and his first appearance at one since 2021 did not disappoint. The bout headlines UFC 329 on Paramount+ pay-per-view with first bell scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
