Mayweather ordered to pay $933,000 in back child support
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been ordered to pay $933,050 in back child support after a Nevada judge declared him the father of a four-year-old girl in March.
The Ring Magazine reports that Paige Moorehead, who danced at Mayweather's Girl Collection club in Las Vegas, filed for paternity in June 2023 following an eight-year relationship that ended when she became pregnant in April 2021. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Moorehead said Mayweather pressured her to terminate the pregnancy and fired her from the club where she had worked for four years. The child was born in December 2021.
Mayweather ignored DNA test, triggering default ruling
Mayweather was served twice and ordered to submit to a DNA test but never complied, prompting the judge to issue a default judgment. The former welterweight champion must now pay $32,850 monthly in addition to the back support. He has paid roughly $151,000 so far, but Moorehead can place a lien up to $2 million on his California properties to collect the balance.
The child support order comes as the 49-year-old Mayweather faces mounting legal and financial pressures despite earning an estimated $1.15 billion during his career. The IRS filed a $7.3 million lien against him in March for unpaid taxes from 2018 and 2023. Separately, Mayweather sued former broadcast partner Showtime in February for $340 million in alleged misappropriated funds, while multiple creditors have sued him over unpaid bills for private jets, luxury rentals, and jewelry.
Asked about the negative headlines at a recent press conference in Athens, Mayweather said the media keeps him relevant. "When you keep a guy relevant, the money still flows in," he told reporters, per The Ring. "Negative stories always go a lot further than positive stories."
Mayweather is scheduled to face Manny Pacquiao on September 25 in what would end a nine-year retirement. He also has exhibition bouts lined up against Mike Tyson this fall and Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis on June 27.
