Lomachenko Re-Signs With Top Rank For 2027 Return

James Wright

Former world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko has reversed his 2025 retirement decision, according to ESPN, inking a new promotional deal with Top Rank and eyeing a return to the ring in early 2027.

Lomachenko, who walked away from boxing two years ago, will rejoin the promotional outfit that guided much of his professional career. The Ukrainian southpaw's comeback timeline puts him back in action after a two-year layoff.

What Lomachenko's Top Rank Return Means For Lightweight Division

The three-weight world champion's decision to un-retire sets up potential clashes with the current crop of lightweights and junior lightweights. Lomachenko last fought competitively in 2025 before announcing his exit from the sport.

Top Rank has not announced a specific opponent or venue for the comeback bout. Lomachenko, now 39, will be nearly two years removed from his last professional fight when he steps back through the ropes in early 2027.
