Lemos Takes Three Tries To Make UFC Vegas 120 Weight
Former UFC strawweight title challenger Amanda Lemos required three trips to the scale before making weight for UFC Vegas 120.
Lemos, who faces Alexia Thainara on Saturday's card, first stepped on the scale at 117 pounds, then stripped down for a second attempt shortly after and came in at 116.5 pounds — still half a pound over the non-title strawweight limit, MMA Fighting reports. Around an hour into the two-hour weigh-in window, the Brazilian finally hit the mark at 115.5 pounds, making her bout official.

Lemos Looking To End Career-Worst Skid
The weight struggle adds another obstacle for Lemos, who enters the fight having dropped consecutive bouts for the first time in her career. The 37-year-old is currently 2-4 in her last six and needs a win to halt the slide.
Lightweight headliners Mateusz Gamrot and Quillan Salkilld both made weight without incident at 155.5 pounds. Gamrot sits at No. 11 in the lightweight rankings, with Salkilld close behind at No. 13. Veteran featherweight Darren Elkins also successfully made weight at 145.5 pounds for his retirement bout against Yadier del Valle on the main card.
