Kozak Makes UFC History After DWCS Knockout

Martin Kozak became the youngest Slovakian to earn a UFC contract after knocking out Christian Echols at Dana White's Contender Series on Monday night.

The undefeated 24-year-old middleweight floored Echols with a head kick in the first round before finishing him with a flurry 90 seconds into the second frame, as Sherdog reported. Kozak improved to 7-0 with the victory over Echols, who dropped to 8-5.

Kozak Joins Klein And Buday In UFC Ranks

Kozak nearly ended the fight in the opening round before the referee halted the action for a low blow. He wasted little time in the second, unloading a vicious combination that forced the stoppage.

"This is what I do," Kozak said afterward. "I'm constantly killing my opponents with many techniques, kicks and punches. All my career, my whole life, I have been dreaming about this moment. Now, finally, it happened. I can't describe my feelings; it's amazing."

Kozak becomes the third active Slovakian on the UFC roster alongside Ludovit Klein and Martin Buday. Vlastislav Cepo made his UFC debut last month in Serbia but lost his first outing with the promotion.

No details on Kozak's first official UFC booking have been announced.
