Silva On Lopes Loss As His Favorite UFC Fight

Jean Silva calls his only UFC loss his favorite fight.

The Brazilian featherweight told fans on social media this week that his defeat to Diego Lopes at Noche UFC 3 last September stands out because both men were willing to trade on the feet with no grappling, according to Sherdog. "Two guys ready and willing to simply go at it with their fists, nothing more," Silva wrote on X. "I love that."

Lopes Stopped Silva With Spinning Backfist

Silva and Lopes headlined the Las Vegas card after a heated buildup. Lopes dropped Silva late in the second round with a spinning backfist and finished him with ground strikes. The loss snapped a five-fight UFC winning streak for Silva, who had stopped every opponent before facing Lopes.

Silva rebounded with a decision over Arnold Allen in January and is now booked to headline Noche UFC 4 against Jose Delgado on Sept. 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Lopes is reportedly eyeing a move to lightweight after two unsuccessful featherweight title challenges.
