Jermall Charlo Pulls Out Of Mazoudier Fight With Injury

Jermall Charlo has pulled out from his October 17 fight with Koen Mazoudier.

The injury, reportedly picked up in training camp, hasn’t been disclosed. Former WBA middleweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super middleweight champion Jose Armando Resendiz is reportedly stepping in for the 10-round bout.

It’s another setback for Charlo, 36, whose originally planned July meeting with Mazoudier in Australia was scrapped over visa problems. He has fought just four times in six years, the last being a sixth-round stoppage of Thomas LaManna in May 2025 that ended an 18-month layoff.

Resendiz, 27, won the WBA interim super middleweight title by upsetting Caleb Plant in May 2025, was elevated to full champion in January, and lost the belt to Jaime Munguia by unanimous decision in May. Mazoudier comes in on a four-fight win streak, most recently beating Sam Beck by majority decision on August 26.
