Hearn Responds To Tyson Fury's Claim
Eddie Hearn has pushed back on Tyson Fury's claim that Anthony Joshua is trying to pull out of their proposed November fight, insisting the two sides remain bound by contract despite ongoing disputes over venue.
Hearn has maintained that Joshua's deal requires the fight take place in the UK, while Fury has shown no such preference and is willing to accommodate a Netflix-backed event at Madison Square Garden. Hearn has since submitted an addendum to Sela, the Saudi-backed organizers, outlining conditions under which Joshua would agree to fight in New York.
"[Fury's comments are] all good fun but [lack] any substance, as usual. When he says 'it looks like AJ has pulled out of the fight' — we can't pull out of the fight because we have signed a contract. We follow contracts, so we are just waiting on the date," Hearn
Should the venue shift to Madison Square Garden, it would mark Joshua's return to the site of his seventh-round stoppage loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019.
