Hearn Confirms Fury-Joshua Fight Signed

Eddie Hearn insists Tyson Fury cannot back out of his heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua, telling DAZN the contract has already been signed and neither side can walk away without breaching it.

The Matchroom promoter's comments came days after Fury suggested the fight might not materialise, despite expectations the two would meet in November. Hearn dismissed those concerns, saying the bout is locked in regardless of ongoing venue and purse negotiations. "The fight's signed. No-one can pull out of the fight. You can't just pull out of a contract," he told DAZN.

UK vs US Venue Dispute

Joshua and his camp signed for a UK staging, but Saudi backers Sela now want to move the event to the United States, with Madison Square Garden reportedly the preferred venue to serve American audiences for Netflix's broadcast. That shift would reduce Joshua's purse, Hearn said, and Matchroom is demanding contract amendments to offset the difference. "What they want to do is pay Anthony Joshua less money because that's how it'll work out with the difference in location," he explained.

Hearn told TalkSport that UFC boss Dana White, whose Zuffa Boxing venture is backed by the Saudis, will not serve as promoter despite White's public claims. "He's not, he can't be and he won't be," Hearn said. Fury has welcomed White's involvement, but Hearn suggested the American could only join as an advisor to Fury's team.

Both fighters hold separate contracts with Sela, and Hearn acknowledged his side has already let minor breaches slide to preserve the partnership. The two-time heavyweight champion and Fury are expected to settle the venue and financial terms before the November date can be confirmed.
