Haney Signs DAZN Deal

Devin Haney has signed a multi-fight deal with DAZN.

Haney's first fight under the new agreement is expected to be a mandatory WBO welterweight title defence against Keyshawn Davis after negotiations with Shakur Stevenson failed to produce a signed contract.

Teofimo Lopez is already on the platform following the PBC deal. Ryan Garcia defends his WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn on September 12 in a Zuffa Boxing card on Paramount+, but Garcia's long-term broadcast home beyond that fight remains unresolved — and if he moves to DAZN afterward, the platform would control Haney, Lopez, and Garcia simultaneously, giving it leverage over the most commercially significant welterweight matchups available.

Zuffa signed Shakur Stevenson earlier this month in what Dana White framed as a significant acquisition. Instead, Haney chose DAZN, leaving Stevenson's promotional home without its most commercially appealing counterpart at the weight.

Stevenson has stated his side signed the catchweight agreement with Haney and was waiting on Haney's team to finalise terms. With Haney now committed to a mandatory defence against Davis first, any Stevenson fight moves further down the calendar regardless of which platform eventually hosts it.

Davis is next. The larger welterweight picture — Stevenson, Garcia, the fights that define legacies — follows after that.
