Fury Won't Wait On Joshua Negotiations

Tyson Fury is not waiting on anyone ahead of his Mariusz Wach fight in Thailand on Friday, the night before Anthony Joshua returns against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh.

A Joshua win sets up the fight with Fury. But Fury made clear this week that if the negotiation timeline extends beyond what he is willing to tolerate, he has a contingency plan ready.

"If my fight with Joshua doesn't happen in the next few months, guess what I'm going to do again? I'm going to put a show on in the Isle of Man myself. I put these shows on every two minutes. When you're not trying to make a profit, you can do anything you want, can't you? When you got tons of money to spend and blow, you can do what you want. I could put 10 of these shows on and fight 10 times, no problem,” Fury

Fury has used his personal resources to stage fights on his terms, keeping himself sharp without depending on the negotiating timelines of promoters or broadcasters. The approach is unconventional and only available to a fighter of his financial standing, but Fury has embraced it as a genuine alternative rather than a last resort.

Fury’s argument is not just logistical — it is competitive. Years of lengthy layoffs defined Fury's previous career phases, and the current emphasis on staying match fit reflects a belief that activity itself is a form of training that camps alone cannot replicate.

"I want to stay match fit. I could do 12 fights. When you're fit, and you're ready to go, and you're active, fighting, you become better every time you do it," Fury said. "This training camp followed directly after the previous one, allowing me to continue progressing instead of spending months rebuilding,” Fury

Wach on Friday is the next step. If Joshua wins Saturday, the narrative points toward November and one of the most commercially significant heavyweight fights in recent memory.
