Fury Wants Dana White Involved In Joshua Superfight

Tyson Fury says he scrapped a contractual clause to ensure Dana White can be involved in his upcoming superfight with Anthony Joshua.

The heavyweight clash, set for Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, was finally confirmed this week after months of wrangling over the venue. But Fury told FurociTV he deliberately removed language from his contract that would have blocked White and TKO from participating in the promotion, as MMA Fighting first reported. "In Joshua's contract, apparently, it says that they can't — they couldn't, TKO and Dana, couldn't be involved," Fury said. "That was in mine, but I took it out. I took it out so he could be involved."

White-Hearn Tension Continues Ahead Of Cardiff Bout

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has insisted White will play no role in the fight, but Fury made clear he wants the UFC CEO in the mix. "Yeah, I want him involved. Two baldies together," he said, per the same outlet. "I like Dana. Good businessman and a good guy. A man who come from nothing to being a billionaire. And look what he done with the UFC. Unbelievable."

White and Hearn have sparred publicly since White launched Zuffa Boxing and signed Conor Benn away from Matchroom earlier this year. The two have traded barbs through the media, with White at one point suggesting they settle it in the ring before backing down.

Fury said he remains skeptical the Joshua fight will actually happen despite the announcement. The two British heavyweights have circled each other for nearly a decade without meeting. "This fight could get signed; he could pull out with an injury at any time," Fury said. "So I'm not sold that this fight is actually happening until we're in that ring."

The Cardiff date is confirmed for Dec. 11, with the winner expected to pursue unification bouts in 2027.
