Deiveson Figueiredo has turned a month-long training holiday in Thailand into a full fight camp ahead of his UFC 332 clash with Payton Talbott.
The former flyweight champion told Sherdog he had planned the trip as a chance to sharpen his muay thai and experience the country, a longtime goal. When the UFC offered him the bantamweight matchup, he decided to complete the entire camp there. "Actually, I came here to spend a month sharpening my muay thai and experiencing Thailand, which had been a longtime dream of mine," Figueiredo said. "When I got here, the UFC offered me this fight, so I decided to do my entire camp here."

Figueiredo Works Striking And Grappling In Phuket
Figueiredo trained striking with Phuket Fight Club head coach Leo Elias and grappling with wrestlers from Chechnya, Dagestan and Uzbekistan based at the same gym. He praised Elias for focusing on volume work and credited the Eastern European grapplers with helping him refine his mat game.
The Brazilian enters the Oct. 3 fight in Salt Lake City having lost four of his last five bouts. He said he is prepared to neutralise Talbott regardless of where the fight takes place and plans to mix up his attack.
